Harry Potter 7, part 2 review

Part 2 stars off slow, but it quickly becomes a nonstop action flick. The pauses that do happen are gasps for air amongst the chaos. Some aspects of the film shine above the rest, while others fall behind. One example is the CGI. I witnessed the most realistic looking dragon to date. However, some other CGI areas falter. For your sake I will omit the specifics of these flaws.

It's almost always impossible to be completely satisfied with any film adaptation of literature. Sadly, this was no exception to the rule. Many key aspects were altered. Although this is not a deal breaker, it still creates disappointment for me.

As a result of the action packed nature of this film, it flew by in my opinion. Lasting around 130 minutes, it felt more like 30. Before I realized what was happening, the end was near.

The climax was noticeably different than what was written. As a movie, it made no difference. As a movie based on a beloved series it was upsetting. The 10 year wait was not justified.

Take the film lightly, as a casual viewer instead of an avid Potter fan, and you will not be disappointed. I can't promise anything else.

I wish I could vouch for the quality of the 3D, alas I can not. If you realize the amount of CGI that went into this, than there should be no crushed dreams. What I'm attempting to convey is the potential for a good 3D flick. Surely it won't be the next Avatar, but it won't be Clash of The Titans either.

And stop calling me Shirley.
